Seller Tips

Seller Guide: Creating Listings That Sell

Great listings get approved faster and sell sooner. Here is how to write titles, descriptions and photos that convert.

Seller Guide: Creating Listings That Sell

Your listing is your shop window. On a marketplace with many sellers, a clear, honest and well-presented listing is the single biggest factor in whether a buyer chooses you. Here is how to make yours stand out.

Start with a clear title

Buyers search by product name and brand, so lead with those. A good title tells the buyer exactly what they are getting:

  • Good: “LELO Soraya Wave – Purple, Rechargeable, Boxed”
  • Less helpful: “Amazing item, must see!!!”

Include the brand, model, colour or size, and the condition if it matters. Keep it readable – no keyword stuffing.

Write a description that answers questions

Think about what a buyer would ask you if they could, and answer it up front:

  • What exactly is included in the box?
  • What are the dimensions, materials and key features?
  • How is it charged or powered, and how long does it last?
  • How should it be cleaned and cared for?

Short paragraphs and bullet points are much easier to read on a phone than one long block of text.

Use photos that build trust

Photos are often the deciding factor. Use good natural light, a plain background and several angles. Show the packaging and any accessories. Never use photos that don’t match the actual item – it leads to disputes and returns.

Price with confidence

Look at what similar items sell for on the marketplace. Remember that prices shown to buyers include your shipping amount, so make sure your shipping setting in your store settings reflects what it really costs you to send an order.

Choose fixed price or auction

Fixed price suits everyday items buyers want straight away. Auctions work best for rare, limited or highly sought-after products where competition can push the price up. If you choose an auction, consider a sensible starting price and, if needed, a reserve.

Understand listing approval

Every listing on Zurgle is reviewed by our team before it goes live. This protects buyers and keeps the quality of the marketplace high. Listings with clear titles, accurate descriptions and good photos are the quickest to approve. If a listing needs changes, you will be told what to fix.

Keep listings up to date

  • Update stock levels so buyers never order something you can’t send.
  • Refresh photos and descriptions if anything changes.
  • Remove listings you no longer sell.

Want more visibility?

Once your listing is live, you can request a Featured placement to show it in a prominent spot on the homepage for a set period. We explain how in our guide to featured listings.

Great listings take a little more effort up front, but they pay off in faster sales, fewer questions and happier buyers.
